A Tully's coffee kiosk and study space opened in the Student Union Sept. 11 after receiving unanimous approval from the student-led Store Operations Board.

The new vendor features a variety of coffee drinks and other beverages and snacks. Coffee will be served in compostable cups. A percentage of sales will be given back to students and go directly to student programming, student groups and organizations.

Tully's also features student study areas and outdoor tables, integrating with the Cal Student Store.

The cafe is open until at least 9 pm to offer students a safe on-campus place to socialize and gather. Plans are in the works for special lectures, presentations and events. Eventually the cafe may be open even later.
