"Since the 19th century when the ASUC was established by undergraduate students at the university, initiative and independence of thought and action have been the hallmark of student government at Berkeley. The students built the football stadium, the original student union, the original Eshleman Hall, the track stadium and today's student union complex. The ASUC has been at the forefront of progressive ideas, values, movements and concerns at Cal.
The resources provided by the ASUC offer education outside the classroom. Please help preserve this tradition of student initiative and engagement by giving to our programs.
Whether you support the construction of a new student union or you wish to contribute toward support of the many student organizations that rely on ASUC funding, student government at Berkeley needs you. The ASUC receives no funds from the campus, so your support is vital to maintaining a tradition over 120 years in the making."
